We close out the series on emotional joy with Consummation. In Zephaniah 3:14-17 we read:

Sing, Daughter Zion;
    shout aloud, Israel!
Be glad and rejoice with all your heart,
    Daughter Jerusalem!
 The Lord has taken away your punishment,
    he has turned back your enemy.
The Lord, the King of Israel, is with you;
    never again will you fear any harm.
 On that day
    they will say to Jerusalem,
“Do not fear, Zion;
    do not let your hands hang limp.
 The Lord your God is with you,
    the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
    in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
    but will rejoice over you with singing.”

God singing over his bride is the consummation of intimacy bathed in a song of joy from the great King. What would that do to our spirit, soul, our body? It would be hard to imagine what that would do to our adrenals and kidneys that have been saturated with trauma from fear and hopeless despair. To have the King sing over them, over us with joy and much rejoicing. I am quite sure there is and will never be therapy to equal that. Christ's endless healing miracles on planet earth have no record of his singing over anybody. I would imagine if Almighty God sings over his bride it would transcend all the miracles that Jesus ever did.

prayer for consummation

Father, we come to you making room for what we don't know, for what we have not seen nor experienced. Simply lifting up in the context of covenant this verse, we are inviting you to come and sing over our adrenal ands kidneys, the whole of our being at any time, any place you want. To sing with joy over what you created and what you had to purchase back and what you value. We invite you to quiet the anxiety of our humanity with your love- as you rejoice over us with singing.
