For this track, Dependable, we will look at Isaiah 14:27.

For the Lord Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him?
His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back?

In any police drama, we see both sides of the story, adjusting, strategising and eventually one side wins or loses. That is humanity. Our best software which comes from Apple still has updates, still has patches. They cannot get even one set of data right the first time. No, not even Apple. There are just too many variables, too many what if's.

But with God there is no need to adjust to the surprise of the culture. The lie of the enemy is that God's plan is a little bit flawed and that he our enemy has the patch that will fix the covenant. So we try to fix his plan for him. Sound familiar? Not so different from Adam and Eve.

Against that backdrop, God, the Lord Almighty, he has purposed, not your circumstances, not the devil, no, not you.

Tonight as you go to sleep, take one situation in your life that is done, over, final and explore it for its perfection. Ponder all the variables along the way that came up and SAVOR how God's plan played out anyway. SAVOR the perfection in God's plan in retrospect, seeing God taking you through an amazingly complicated mess and come out looking great. SAVOR that. Make a list that God foresaw, arranged and executed flawlessly. That will give you confidence to trust the perfection of the covenant the next time around,.
