In this track on hardship, we go to Psalm 11:5.
The Lord trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.
The Lord stress tests the righteous. Why does he do that? He does that because there is potential. We see this in John 15 as the vinedresser prunes the fruitful vine to make it even more fruitful. God comes to us, the righteous and differentiates between those he will judge harshly. He puts pressure on us to expose flaws to make us better and to further propel us down the path.
We call that a left handed compliment, when God blesses us with pain and exposes to us the inadequacies of our ways. He values what we have brought to the table thus far and when we have learned our life’ s lessons and are actively pursuing God. Yet it is likely that our life will get harder as he deals with our thought processes in the adrenals and kidney and judges us, not better because God recognises and honours our pursuit with our desire to understand covenant more deeply, to relate to our walk with him in covenant. As a result of that process, God shows us where our covenant knowledge is deficient by putting us in situations where our knowledge base is inadequate, our perspective just not good enough.
We either need to dig more deeply looking for and learning the resources he has made available to us or we end up framing it badly with our left adrenals and problem solve with our right adrenals and make a mess only to revisit this later on.
The purging is a sign of God’s love, his consistency of his showing us what we are doing isn’t working right. It is an indication we have found favour in his eyes because those that his soul hates he treats in a different way.
I bless you adrenals and kidneys with being able to frame any problem around covenant love. When God tests you, instead of seeing it as a hardship especially when others may not be receiving that experience. I bless you with knowing it is a sign of love and favour. He is bringing you to a place where you can see covenant in a bigger and better way.
I bless you with a perspective that is necessary to gain more perspective. I bless you with having enough knowledge of the wisdom and love of God woven together in one package that you can accept the hardship and testing he brings to reveal more of his wisdom and love in preparation for the next big thing coming down ht road. I bless you in Jesus name.
Having listened to this section on Hardship, what are your thoughts and emotions that bubble up? How do you relate to what is being described?
Why do you think we view pain as punishment and not as God's favour and love? Do you struggle with this?
Do you have an experience where you were able to dig more deeply and found resources available? Can you remember the time you framed it badly? Can you see God's gracious hand in both?
We would love to hear from you
