What you can do when you don't know what to do
This is a sacred piece of music that needs to be played.
Be present to your pain whatever it may be.
Perhaps it is a heart ache, something physical, or a memory wrought in darkness. Perhaps it looks like one messy situation. It could be a bad night you cannot shake free.
Whatever it may be, you are here now. All feelings are welcome.
Now taking your left hand, as if you were playing piano, allow yourself the freedom to play out the melody surrounding your pain. Play it out with intention and force if need be. Cry it out, validating the hardship that you have been forced to live with.
Not a moment sooner, with your right hand and in the same manner gently begin to touch the keys alongside your left and let the music flow. Not one hand or the other but BOTH playing together creating a melody all your own.
This is a sacred piece of music that needs to be played. And when you are ready it needs to be shared.
As you pour out your heart, the keys you are playing became the keys to unlock the chambers that you have disconnected from so that a healing balm can flow. And flow it will.
Trust your fingers.
You invite us to listen. We become witnesses of your song, and we realise the melody has becoming sweeter because the hurt in your heart is being carried by others. As your burden is shared we testify to our own brokenness and to our own pain.
The laughter it starts to trickle and the tears they flow too, mixed together in the left and the right doing life as one. The music slows but we don’t want you to stop.
Keep playing, keep unlocking the keys. They are now not only for you but for many others
